I am riding around Australia to raise money and awareness to cure cancer. I need your help and support as i tackle this massive challenge. Each year, I take part in the Tour de Cure's Signature bike tour, which raises money to find a cure for cancer. On tour, the team of 120 riders and 60 support crew, selected from around Australia, travel 1600kms through some of our Countries most beautiful, remote and challenging terrain it has to offer.

Sound Crazy? I partially agree with you…

On the other hand, the amount of pain that I feel during these tours is nothing compared to what cancer sufferers feel over their lifetime.

If I can help to ease that pain by pushing my body to its limits for 9 days, to raise well needed funds, then I am willing to do the hard yards.

So why am I for putting my body through months of training & hard work?

My Family has a strong history of cancer.

My Grandfather died at a young age from cancer before I had the chance to meet him. My father and his brothers have been diagnosed with cancer and are in various stages with their recovery.  With such a strong family history, my two brothers and I will have to undergo regular testing throughout our lives to make sure we catch any early signs of this nasty disease.

My Dad taught me how to ride a bike. I remember riding in circles on the driveway over and over again while Dad looked on and gave me pointers. Once I made the jump from training wheels, I don't think I ever looked back. I can't remember many mornings or afternoons that Dad didn't leave for work or arrive back home on his road bike. I guess my passion for two wheeled machines came from him.

My brothers also enjoy the cycling lifestyle. We love to get out on the road together and soak up some kilometers. We always look forward to participating in races, organised rides and charity events and are a great way to spend time with family and friends.

I recently became a father and I definitely don’t want my children to grow up without their Grandfather in their lives. What better way to bring two big parts of my life together than taking part in the Tour de Cure. This is why I will be riding to raise money to find a cure for cancer.

I have a goal to raise at least $15,000 for the 2015 Signature Tour, to go towards finding a cure for cancer.

Here are some ways you can help:

1. Make a tax deductible donation through my TDC profile page. Donate here.

2. Send me a message of encouragement & wish me luck for my training & the Tour. corystourdecure@gmail.com

3. Follow my progress with regular updates on my blog. Blog.

4. Send the link to this website onto as many people as you know & encourage them for their support also.

Whether you have a direct link or you know of someone who has cancer, it is very hard to find people who have not been affected by cancer in some way.
