Trivia - Fundraising - Training - Ride Start - Less Than One Week To Go!!!

Less than one week to go until the 2016 tour team kicks off from Brisbane! I cant believe it is so close. The fundraising has been epic (like normal) and the training has been tough too. Thank you all for your support!

Here is a breakdown from the past few weeks.

Trivia Night!

Our annual trivia night was held at the Bulimba State School and was once again a great success. 120 people (12 teams) tested their minds in the hope of winning and taking out first prize thanks to Cineplex.

Along with great conversation, raffle prizes galore, live and silent auctions, the "Rum Bottle Game" and plenty of laughter, we managed to raise a massive $6,500 for Tour de Cure! What a fantastic result!

A massive thanks to all the sponsors from the night! Without your generosity, we would not have been able to run such a successful night and raise as much money as we did. Thank you.

29th of April Signature Tour Launch Details:

Once the events of Day 0 are wrapped up, we'll be ready to make history with the first leg of our 10th anniversary Signature Tour, Kicking off bright and early at 6am from Kangaroo Point. We will be having breakfast in the picturesque Kangaroo Cliffs Park in Kangaroo Point opposite the 'Cliffs Cafe' (see red map marker on below) and will be leaving from the same point after we have checked in with Channel 7 / Sunrise.

We'd love to see as many people as possible on the start line, as we leave Brisbane and  ride towards Sydney.

More details on the stops for that day are available in the 'Cheering Spots' section of the Tour de Cure Website.

The last of our training is pretty much done. My legs are definitely telling me that its time for a rest, but little do they know what is ahead for them... I know there are going to be some painful days on the bike, but I also have some great motivation to push on.

I have been given the great honor this year of wearing the captain's hat for team Bisley.

On tour, the tour members are broken up into smaller teams under the banners of our sponsors. Bisley have been a massive supporter of Tour de Cure for many years and I look forward to wearing the the Bisley logo with pride for 10 days on our trip to Sydney. We have many amazing sponsors at Tour de Cure and it blows my mind how much support they give to Tour de Cure for the work they are doing and have done.

Ill leave you with a word cloud that I put together from all my blog posts over the years. It outlines some very powerful themes and topics that Tour de Cure are very proud of.
