Racing, Training & High Tea!

Its been about nine to ten months since I have ventured onto the race track with my pushbike... Saturday afternoon saw me enter my first race for 2014 at the Crestmead track for the Logan Cycling Club restricted open event.

Even though my pace wasn't totally up to scratch with the rest of the field, I felt pretty good. Some bad tactics on my part pushed me towards the back end of the field by the time we crossed the finish line. I will learn from my mistakes and give it another go sometime.

Thanks to the Logan Club for hosting the race. Its always nice to participate in your events.

After pushing myself Saturday afternoon on the Crit track, Sunday morning was an early start for a bit of hill training.

Not such a good idea after a race day...

Deon, Zac and myself met with Jodi's regular riding group for a 6am start to tackle Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious. Not to be fooled by Mt Glorious's name, its always a tough day in the saddle! It was a 99km ride with 2500m's of elevation!

It was fantastic weather for a mountainous ride! The air was cool and the sun was warm with no too many clouds in the sky. There are some amazing views as you climb and wind your way to the top. You have to share the roads with plenty of motorbikes and fast cars. There is a coffee shop at the top of Mt Glorious that is always busy and its a great place to check out some nice machinery.

Overall, we had a great ride!

The High Tea is just around the corner!

There are still spots available if you would like to join in the fun! All the details can be found here: EVENTS PAGE!

I look forward to seeing everyone there!
