Good Night To All...

Its been a long day, but a day that I have been very much looking forward to over the last few months. I walked out of my office at 2:30pm and jumped in the car with Stephanie to meet the rest of the QLD Country Tour Team members at the Gold Coast for a meal and a drink before we start our 4 day journey tomorrow morning. There are some familiar faces amongst the group of riders and support crew from my previous tour this year, and there are plenty of new people to get to know over the coming km's on the road. Im and very happy to have a great mate Deon who is joining me for the first leg of tour tomorrow. He has been great support since I joined TdC and I really look forward to adding a 'few' more km's to our times on the bike together.

Stephanie seems to have settled in to the support crew role with no worries. They are a great bunch of people, and without them these tours would not happen. Im so proud of her taking on this role within the TdC tour group and I really look forward to spending the next 4 days with her and sharing some really special moments on tour with her this time.

Tomorrow we are tackling Mt Tambourine. Its a beautiful climb through the forest and the descent on the other side and the view at the top is very much worth the climb to the top. We will also be wearing a green ribbon around our wrist. This has become a QLD country tour tradition in memory of a very special boy (Connor) who lost the battle with cancer last year. I have the great privilege of riding with both of Connor's parents over the next 4 days as they participate in this years tour.

Our green ribbon's will remind us of the reasons we are riding and supporting TdC. I know Stephanie has a few family members who she has in the back of her mind as motivation for this tour and I will see my Dad in the morning as we prepare to make our way from the Gold Coast and back into Brisbane over a lumpy 550kms.
